The Brazil Cerrado Select is a mellow and sweet coffee, ideal for parties and special occasions. It comes from the a savannah-like region in Central Brazil called "Cerrado". In this region the climate is generally dry during harvest. This allows for the freshly harvested coffee beans to be naturally sun-dried. The process of naturally sun-drying coffee beans preserves some of the sugars on the surface of the bean. When roasted to a medium dark roast, these sugars are not burned but preserved in the roasted beans giving the coffee a nice round finish and background sweetness. The Air Roasting process that we use at GranCoffee contributes towards preserving these sugars because it ensures that there is no scorching of the surface of the beans and it ensures that the coffee is roasted very uniformly. |
